MATLAB: Do I need to use the ‘Connection Settings’ button in the MATLAB installer

I am installing MATLAB R2014a or newer. On the screen which states 'Select installation method', there is a 'Connection Settings' button. Do I need to use this button?

You should NOT use the 'Connection Settings' button if you do not use a proxy to connect to the internet, or if you do not know if you use a proxy to connect to the internet. If you enter information here and you do not have a proxy, the installer may not be able to connect to MathWorks in order to proceed with the installation.
You should only use the 'Connection Settings' button if your system uses a proxy to connect to the internet. This will allow you to check your proxy settings, including the proxy server, port, username and password.
On Windows, the 'Connection Settings' should import your proxy information from your Internet Explorer proxy settings, so you may not need to make any changes.
On Linux and Mac, you may need to fill out the fields manually.
If you are not sure of your proxy information, please check with your IT or networking department.
