MATLAB: Do I get the error “Undefined variable “com” or class “com.mathworks.jmi.ClassLoaderManager.getClassLoaderManager” when trying to retrieve results from the R2019a Polyspace Job Manager

I am using Polyspace, Polyspace Server, MATLAB Parallel Server and the third-party scheduler PBSPro together. I'm able to successfully sends results from a desktop side using Polyspace to PBSPro scheduler and retrieve results from the Polyspace UI.

When I try downloading results from the Polyspace jobs manager, I get the error:

Error: An unexpected error occured during the Polyspace Job Manager execution

Undefined variable "com" or class "com.mathworks.jmi.ClassLoaderManager.getClassLoaderManager".|

This issue can occur if the MATLAB Parallel Server installation is missing or incomplete.

The following will resolve the error:

Ensure MATLAB Parallel Server installation is complete
Confirm the MATLAB Parallel Server installation is specified in the Generic cluster profile.
Use the mjs_polyspace.conf in the R2019a installation to point to the Polyspace Server installation.

This bug has been fixed in Release 2007a (R2007a). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:

This error is due to the ordering of the Java library entries within the LD_LIBRARY_PATH on Solaris machines. Because order is significant in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable, the directories should be specified in the order shown in the documentation.

In particular, the following path:

 $MCRROOT/sys/java/jre/sol2/jre1.5.0/lib/sparc/server

 $MCRROOT/sys/java/jre/sol2/jre1.5.0/lib/sparc/client

should precede

 $MCRROOT/sys/java/jre/sol2/jre1.5.0/lib/sparc/

in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable.

Specifying the libjvm.so in the sparc/client/ or sparc/server directory locates the sparc/native_threads/libhpi.so library correctly. Specifying the libjvm.so in sparc/ searches in the wrong location.

MATLAB: Com.mathworks.*….

These Java classes are internal to Matlab, are unsupported and undocumented. To the best of my knowledge, the only location that describes them to some degree is my book "Undocumented Secrets of Matlab-Java Programming" (CRC Press, 2011). Note that this book was written almost a decade ago, so some things are outdated (most of the content is still relevant in R2019b though). If you are only interested in uitable customizations, you can refer to section 4.1 of the book, or to a more expanded coverage in my uitable customization report. Note that I do not cover asd.* classes in either of these resources - I only discuss relevant com.mathworks.* and com.jidesoft.* classes.
