MATLAB: Do I get the error “The name specified is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable or program or bat file.” when running the MATLAB Runtime Library installer (MGLINSTALLER)

Why do I get the following error when attempting to install the MATLAB Runtime Libraries on a Windows NT machine using the MGLINSTALLER utility?

 The name specified is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable or program or bat file.
 Error running autoexec file
 c:\program files\stub.bat
 Not automatically deleting it.

This error is generally due to the presence of a space in the installation directory.

Please try re-installing to a direcory with no space in its name. For example:

 c:\MATLAB_Runtime_Libraries\
