MATLAB: Do I Get an Error Message ” Error: The Versions of Client and Queue Manager Are Incompatible” in Polyspace

When Polyspace is installed on a server machine where an already previous release is already installed, the MATLAB installer does not upgrade the Queue Manager service. The Queue Manager Service is also called Polyspace Metrics server or Polyspace web metrics or Polyspace repository. At the end of installation, the Queue Manager service of the previous version continues to run.

When this occurs, the following error message appears on a desktop side (client) when it has been upgraded and tries to upload new results to the Polyspace web metrics:

Error: The versions of client and Queue Manager are incompatible :

Client version : X_Y_Z|

Queue Manager version : A_B_C.|

An error occurred while sending the verification to the queue.

When the above message occurs, it can also mean that a desktop side (client) has been upgraded with a new release of Polyspace and server side has not been upgraded yet. Uploading results obtained with a new release of Polyspace is not compatible with a Polyspace Metrics server of an older release (inverse is true).

To fix the error, you can install the new Polyspace Queue manager service following steps provided by the following documentation and the paragraph "Configure and Start Polyspace Metrics Server".

If an older version of Polyspace only exists on the server side, you must install the new version of Polyspace on the server before trying to start Polyspace web metrics.
