MATLAB: Do bistatic radar simulations require antenna elements that support polarization

I am interested in simulating a bistatic radar system.
I noticed that a short dipole antenna element is used in theĀ
example at the link below. Is it always the case that I will need to use an antenna element that supports polarization for bistatic radar simulations?

As of R2020b, polarization encapsulates reflected signals and is necessary for the bistatic radar simulation workflow.
However, in some instances, the same simulation results can be achieved without polarization (using isotropic antenna elements). For example, for a simulation involvingĀ constant radar cross sections, a non-polarized radar target can be used as an alternative.
