MATLAB: Delete files inside subfolder

Hello,

I have a folder:

Testfolder

Inside are:

1.mat
1.txt
1.wav

SubTestfolder

Inside SubTestfolder are:

2.mat
2.txt
2.wav

I do

Del_path = fullfile(TestFolderPath,SubTestFoldername);
delete(Del_path,'*.mat')

I was waiting that 2.mat should be deleted, but it will be 1.mat deleted, not 2.mat. Why? How can I delete files/all files in subfolder?

use dir('**/*.mat') to find files in subfolders in one shot and then use a for-loop to delete the files.

Using Matlab's posibility to search a file in the complete list of folders in the path leads to such strange effects. It is recommended to use absolute file names instead:

File = fullfile(cd, 'fp_database.mat');
save(File,'data');
...
delete(File);
disp(exist(File, 'file'))

The current directory can be modified by GUI or TIMER callbacks, such that absolute file names are more secure in general also.

use

for k=1:5
  Filename=sprintf('%d.mat',k);
end

Also

save(['C:\Users\Documents\MATLAB\TechnicalFinal\' Filename],'close')

Because

filename='2.mat'
folder='C:\Users\filname'

Result

C:\Users\filname

and now

filename='2.mat'
folder=['C:\Users\'  filename]

Result

C:\Users\2.mat
