low pitch and high pitch are relative terms so you have to define them in the context of your application. You can use the discrete Fourier transform, fft(), or a spectral estimation technique from the Signal Processing Toolbox to analyze the signal by frequency.
Use thefft (link) function, the use thefindpeaks function to find thefundamental frequencies. You can then look up the corresponding notes if you need that information.
