MATLAB: Cannot open shared object file Simulink Student Version 2012a

MATLABmatlab simulink 2012 a 32 bit libglu.so.1linux 64 bit cannot loadlibrarysimulink

I have successfully installed Matlab/Simulink 2012a 32 bit on Linux 64 bit Centos release 6.2.

when i start Simulink i got this error:

Caught "std::exception" Exception message is: FatalException(unknown) MATLAB:dispatcher:loadLibrary Can't load '/usr/local/MATLAB/R2012a_Student/bin/glnx86/libmwsimulink.so': libGLU.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.

Has anyone had a similar problem? What could i do?

It looks like you need to install OpenGL libraries. I'm not familiar with this issue, but found a couple of solutions that you may find useful:

Looks like the Graphics drivers are not up-to-date. Try updating the drivers and observe if the error persists.

You can also try by starting MATLAB with software OpenGL instead of using the GPU. start MATLAB with the -softwareopengl flag

matlab -softwareopengl
