MATLAB: Can I use system composer with Matlab home license

Hi, I would like to educacte myself with the method Model Based Engineering. To my understanding, I need Matlab with Simulink and the add-on "System Composer". Is it possible to get "system composer" for the Matlab Home edition? A limitation for the Home edition, e.g. number of blocks, would be acceptable.

No, System Composer is not available for Home licenses.

MathWorks does not support specific Linux distributions. Support for Linux is based on specific kernel and glibc versions. If the linux distribution falls into these system requirements, then MATLAB should operate properly.

MATLAB: Is lm_matlab missing from the network license manager installation on Linux or Mac in versions R2011a and newer

Starting with R2011a, we have renamed the vendor daemon from lm_matlab to MLM on Mac and Linux. This change was made so that the name of the daemon is now consistent on all platforms.

So, if your DAEMON line in your license file looked like the following before:

 DAEMON MLM /usr/local/matlab/R2010b/etc/lm_matlab

It will now look something like the following after the newer license manager is installed:

 DAEMON MLM /usr/local/matlab/R2011a/etc/MLM
