MATLAB: Can I use a laptop as a target machine in xPC Target

I want to know if I can use laptop machine with xPC Target.
The documentation specifically mentions that I can use a laptop as a host machine, but it is not clear on whether I can use laptop as a target machine.

xPC Target does not support laptop PCs as target PCs.
This is due to the following reasons:
1. xPC Target does not support laptop I/O which is based on PCMCIA.
2. Most of the laptops have Ethernet cards that are not supported by drivers available in the xPC real-time kernel.
