MATLAB: Are the license manager scripts not being installed on Japanese Solaris systems

When I install the license manager on a Japanese Solaris system, the license manager scripts are not included with the MATLAB installation.

This bug has been fixed in Release 14 Service Pack 3 (R14SP3). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:

To properly install the license manager scripts, you must set the locale to C before running the installer, or perform an installation and then run the following command from your root MATLAB directory:

 ./install_matlab 4

This command will perform a license manager only installation that will properly install the license manager scripts.

If you have several roi objects, you can use the createMask on each of them, and you can or them together by using any() . You would then extract the original image at the collective mask.

For example,

masks(:,:,1) = createMask(roi_object1);
masks(:,:,2) = createMask(roi_object2);
composite_mask = repmat( any(masks, 3), size(YourImage, 3));   %expand to number of color planes
masked_image = 0 * YourImage;   %black but same size and same data type
masked_image(composite_mask) = YourImage(composite_mask);

MATLAB: Problem with regexp Japanese

The \u syntax is not valid in MATLAB:

\u3000 % !!! NOT CORRECT !!!

To create a character from hexadecimal use \x:

\x3000

So you will need to change all of your \u... into \x....
