MATLAB: Any workarounds for broken LaTeX rendering in MATLAB Grader

Hello All,

I'm trying out MATLAB Grader for our department, and so far the only major issue I'm having is with LaTeX rendering, and only when viewing as a student. To demonstrate, here is a problem from the instructor view:

and the same problem viewed after selecting the [Learner Preview] button:

This is using Google Chrome 71.0.3578.98, and I can replicate the issue in Microsoft Edge as well. Does anyone have a solution for this that does not involve replacing the LaTeX equations with an image?
