MATLAB: Am I unable to copy the Linux installer onto a Windows filesystem

I am trying to copy the MATLAB installer for Unix onto a Windows network share for installation. However, it gives me an error that it cannot read the data from the source. I would like to know how to copy the Unix DVD to my Windows machine.

The Unix installer DVD for versions previous to R2008b contains directories with special characters, such as '<' and '>'. Windows does not permit files and folders with these special characters. Thus Windows will not allow you to copy those files.

There is no workaround at this time to copy the files, unless you do so from a Unix operating system.

MATLAB: “fl:filesystem:InvalidArgument” Error

Hi. I had the same problem and I solved it. In my case, I had a stand-alone application (EXE file) to distribute to several target computers. In some of the target computers, when I ran the EXE, I received the "fl:filesystem:InvalidArgument" error.

Eventually, I found the problem: If the EXE was located in a path that included Hebrew characters (I'm from Israel) it gave the error.

To solve it, I simply renamed all folders in the path to Latin characters and it worked like magic :) Hope this helps...
