Why am I prompted to update my license file when I start MATLAB?

MATLAB will ask you to update your license file when validation status is overdue, or when there is a conflict between the activation information stored in your license file and the activation information stored on MathWorks activation servers.
Until you update the license file, you will be prompted to do so every time you launch MATLAB. Update your license file to dismiss the prompt.
