MATLAB: ALTERA DE0-NANO Board Support for HDL Coder

Hallo

I have a DE0-NANO development kit ALTERA. I am using MATLAB 2014b and i have a downloaded the ALTERA FPGA board support package 14.2.0. But in the list of the board i could not find the DE0-NANO board. Do i have to make a custom board to use the DE0-NANO board or the newer version of HDL coder supports the board?

The Altera DEO-NANO board is not yet supported. However, you can can still add this board as a custom board and use it. Please refer to the following documentation to learn how to add a new FPGA board.

Yes, you need a separate Altera FPGA board to prototype Altera Arria II Gx FPGA.

Altera FPGA boards are supported starting in R2012a release. HDL Coder and HDL Verifier support the following Altera development boards. You can use the first one in the list to prototype Arria FPGA.

    Altera Arria II GX FPGA development kit
    Altera Cyclone III FPGA development kit
    Altera Cyclone IV GX FPGA development kit
    Altera DE2-115 development and education board

MATLAB: Nano second

Even microseconds are not valid in Matlab, if you measure them using CLOCK or CPUTIME: See CSSM: Precision of CLOCK and CPUTIME.

The 1000th parts of the seconds between subsequent calls of CPUTTIME and CLOCK are correlated:

function sillyTest
a = cputime;
v = rand(1000); % Any operation wasting some time
% drawnow; % Waste more time
b = cputime;
fprintf('%f  %.3f\n%f  %f.3\n', a, rem(a*100, 1), b, rem(b*100, 1);

While the 10th and 100th parts of the seconds are independent, the 1000th parts are monotonically increasing (execpt for overflow) - at least in Matlab 2009a. The same problem appears for CLOCK.
