[GIS] Silent Install for QGIS version 3.10

I've seen some past comments that a /s option is available to silently install the app. However, that doesn't work with the latest stable version. Does QGIS support a built-in silent install method?

On Windows, you may use the recipe from https://gist.github.com/mdouchin/fe2862d39b6c4d04da6f62727cd30b86

It downloads the OSGeo4W installer, downloads the packages for QGIS and does the installation.

I think the best option if you want to work with several GIS applications and a Ubuntu-based system is the UbuntuGIS repository. Adding it to your sources is very easy, just enter this commands in the terminal, one at a time.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntugis/ubuntugis-unstable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install qgis

After that you will have QGIS 2.0 installed in your system. There are some plugins available like the grass one wich is very useful for GRASS integration. In my case, I had an error running QGIS without root privileges, which I solved giving permissions to the QGIS folder:

(In the /home/user folder)

sudo chmod -R +rwx .qgis2

After that it should run fine just from the application menu.

You can try compiling it yourself using the OSGeo4Mac Homebrew tap.

Install XCode and Homebrew, then:

brew update
brew tap homebrew/science
brew tap osgeo/osgeo4mac
brew info qgis-22
# review the options you want for install, e.g. --with-grass --with-globe
brew install qgis-22  [--with-options...]

The install on Mac 10.6.8 using OSGeo4Mac has not been fully tested (will be soon). You may run into issues, specifically if using Apple's older gcc-4.2 compiler, instead of clang.

Please report any issues you have with formulae from that tap to the OSGeo4Mac tracker. Other formulae issues, from upstream Homebrew taps, should be reported on their respective trackers.
