QGIS Print Layout Portrait – Setting Print Layout to Portrait Using QGIS 3

I can't get the print layout to appear in portrait. It opens in landscape and Layout/Page Setup… allows for portrait, but the layout canvas remains in landscape.

In 2.18 the "Composition" Panel has "Page Size" as its first item, with a drop down Landscape/Portrait control box.

In 3.0.0, the "Layout" Panel does not have this, and I can't find it in the "Item Properties" panel.

Is there somewhere that I can set it to portrait?

In QGIS 3.x you have to right click on the page in your layout to find "Page Properties".

As was answered before, changing page orientation is not enough. You also need to resize and move the map item.

Quoting from cited posts (this was for Atlas Feature but could be adapted)

For the item width -> (CASE WHEN bounds_width( $atlasgeometry ) >= bounds_height( $atlasgeometry) THEN 297 ELSE 210 END) - 30

For the item height -> (CASE WHEN bounds_width( $atlasgeometry ) >= bounds_height( $atlasgeometry) THEN 210 ELSE 297 END) - 10

HTML layout items are "multi frame" items, which means that their content is split over multiple QgsLayoutFrame items.

After creating your QgsLayoutItemHtml, you need to then create frames to display the content. E.g.:

blockStats = QgsLayoutItemHtml.create(comp)

# create a frame for showing content from blockStats
frame1 = QgsLayoutFrame(comp, blockStats)
blockStats.addFrame(frame1)

# and resize/move the frame
frame1.setFixedSize(QgsLayoutSize(34.3,25, QgsUnitTypes.LayoutMillimeters))
frame1.attemptMove(QgsLayoutPoint(200,89, QgsUnitTypes.LayoutMillimeters))
