[GIS] Save QGIS point layer as KML and retain attribute table

I've done this in the past but I can't remember how I did it! I'm saving a point layer as a kml and trying to bring over the attribute data across with the kml. I've got some screenshots of the result from the past:

I've read a post about exporting 2 attributes but obviously I managed to export a selection of my attributes. I'm not an experienced coder and there weren't any intricate expressions involved. I remember filling in the 'Description Field' and 'NameField' shown below but from recollection, that only changed what the pins in Google Earth are titled with – shown as parcel numbers in my case.

I can't believe I missed this....when saving the vector layer as a .kml, there is a inconspicuous drop down arrow which says "select fields to export and their export options". Problem solved!

Where is your image ?
There was lots of Python modules to parse KML files (Pypi: KML) and you can also use all the Python modules to parse XML files (Pypi: XML), lxml is one of them, but not the easiest to use.

For example

bikepathparse.py is a script that parse a KML file (with lxml), and return path list of dictionaries with lists of coordinate points and metadata
kmlparser is a script that parse a KML file (with beautifulsoup), dump it into CSV and upload the file to a Google docs account
Python xml namespace parsing with libxml2 extract the geometries of a KML with libxml2
and examples with fastkml, pyKML or keytree

The problem is that your KML file is singular:

It is easy to extract the name, the snippet and the geometry

from lxml import etree
parser = etree.XMLParser(recover=True, remove_blank_text=True)
file_name="hospitais_Project_Buffer_Int.kml"
root = etree.parse(file_name, parser)
names = root.xpath('//kml:name', namespaces={'kml': "http://www.opengis.net/kml/2.2"})
for names in names:
    print names.text,
hospitais_Project_Buffer_Int, HJM, MAC, HTS, HSAC,IGP, HSJ, ....

But the content of the tag description is a CDATA HTML file, much more difficult to parse.
