[GIS] Same python code works in arcgis python window, but fails in pyScripter

This code works in the arcgis python window but in PyScripter, this warning message had been written:

I was wondering why this situation happened, any suggestions?

It could be an issue with the workspace path. if this is a win7 machine, i would not typically expect to see a path like

arcpy.env.workspace = r"C:\Desktop\spatial statistics analysis tutorials\PatternAnalysis\PatternAnalysisExercise\DengueData.gdb".

Instead, i would expect a path like

arcpy.env.workspace = r'C:\users\YourUserName\Desktop\...'

in a quick test, i found that arcpy will happily set the workspace to a non-existent path- only to later fail because it can't find the feature class.

When running from pythonwin, check how you are passing the parameters to the script. You can set up a test script to ensure that things will work without having to reenter the parameters each time (as in the example below). GetParameterAsText and sys.argv will enable you to do the same thing. The only difference is the indexing since sys.argv[0] is the running script name.

Here is an example of how you would run a script with just command line entries such as the simplified version below:

for row in rows:
  print  row.getValue(populationField)

The entry on the command line needs to be a space delimited list as show in the image

If you are getting error messages, then the file may be in error or the entries are incorrect.

[GIS] Error when creating insert cursor in ArcPy

Python isn't really the right tool for the job here. If I were you, I'd do this with Featureclass To Featureclass or Append, there is little to no benefit of doing this in Python when a geoprocessing tool exists to already do this and will run faster than a Python script.
