[GIS] QGIS 2.16 Nødebo installation package for OSX

Im using qgis on my mac, few days ago the notification of the new available 2.16 version appeared in user interface. I went to the official webpage of the qgis but did not succeed. qgis.org is redirecting you to the kyngchaos for download http://www.kyngchaos.com/software/qgis but there is still only old 2.14 version for download.

Does anyone knows when it will be eventually available? or maybe someone can suggest where can i get fresh dmg.

Some people uses QGIS 2.8.x others the versions 2.10.x, 2.12.x and 2.14.x and some want to use the new version 2.16.x. Unfortunately, it is not yet available for Mac OS X and you have some solutions...

Wait for William Kyngesburye version ( Kyng Chaos)
Wait for Homebrew Mac OSGeo version
Compile yourself QGIS (Mac OS X is an Unix System and you have all the tools to compile)
Download and use one of the Nightly Mac Build of QGIS from 'master' Branch (diary) from Larry Shaffer Dakota Cartography (2.17 now)

Be patient because there are many differences between the 2.14 and 2.16 versions and there is not many people to propose versions for Mac OS X.

You can try compiling it yourself using the OSGeo4Mac Homebrew tap.

Install XCode and Homebrew, then:

brew update
brew tap homebrew/science
brew tap osgeo/osgeo4mac
brew info qgis-22
# review the options you want for install, e.g. --with-grass --with-globe
brew install qgis-22  [--with-options...]

The install on Mac 10.6.8 using OSGeo4Mac has not been fully tested (will be soon). You may run into issues, specifically if using Apple's older gcc-4.2 compiler, instead of clang.

Please report any issues you have with formulae from that tap to the OSGeo4Mac tracker. Other formulae issues, from upstream Homebrew taps, should be reported on their respective trackers.

I've had mixed results with Boundless repositories. If you stick to their products it all works, but as soon as you try to upgrade versions of GDAL, or install other things like QGIS, you run into issues.

I would suggest that you keep your use cases separate, and install the OpenGeoSuite on a server and QGIS on your desktop. If you're really keen on getting the OGS on your machine, think about using Docker to simplify it and keep it separate from your main operating system (and it looks like someone has already done it: https://hub.docker.com/r/mkzaker/opengeo-suite/).

Also, keep in mind that you could just install native GeoServer, depending on your needs, and the GeoServer Admin plugin for QGIS. I no longer see a huge amount of value in the Boundless package, though GeoExplorer is a very handy tool for doing styling. (I should say that I do see value in Boundless for support and associated services! It's just that I use vanilla GeoServer :)
