[GIS] Layer name in OpenLayers 3.0

I'm looping through all the layers in my map using

map.getLayers().forEach(function(layer, i) {
   ...
});

I'd like to get the name of each layer but I haven't been able to find anything in the examples or the documentation. Any pointers?

I'm using OpenLayers 3.0.0.

name is just a property you can set on your layer. All constructor options which are not part of the API [1] are treated as property[2].

You can later get it with layer.get('name') (& set it with layer.set('name', 'foobar'))

OK, I've figured this out. You can use the option: parseFeatures in the protocol:

The myOwnCallback function should use the formatter to give the correct return.

myOwnCallback: function(data) {
    return this.format.read(data);
},

The data it receives is the GeoJSON object as returned by the server. So in the function you can deconstruct and change it any way you like. I've made a new array with the features that are not on the drawing layer and put that back as the feature part of the data object.

data.features = temp;

works great.

OpenLayers 3 – Setting Layer Visibility

Aragon, your answer pointed me in the right direction. Below is my final unclean code for adding layers to an array and then controling them.

In a javascript file I initialized the map and used a function to toggle visibility as follows:
