I have enabled the Coordinate Capture Plugin via the Plugins menu. But I cannot seem to "turn on" or activate the Plugin and get it running. How do I do that?

I just installed QGIS 1.5.0 two days ago. The GRASS plugin shows up in my Plugin Manager and under the Plugin Menu. I used the Standalone Installer though, rather than the OSGeo4W Installer. You might want to try that route. (http://www.qgis.org/wiki/Download)
You also have to set up a GRASS Database through the "Plugins > Grass > New Mapset" menu in order to get the other GRASS Plugin Menu items to become active.
http://qgis.org/debian/dists/trusty/main/binary-i386/Packages only contains packages for grass6, while http://qgis.org/ubuntugis/dists/trusty/main/binary-i386/Packages supports grass7 only.
You might have to compile QGIS from source, or remove the debian packages from your Linux, and switch to the ubuntugis ones.
While this works for trusty (and Linux Mint 17.3), there are currently no ubuntugis packages for newer Ubuntu versions and Grass 7 support.

If Coordinate Capture plugin is activated, you should see the following dock window:
If you cannot see it, go to View - Panels and select Coordinate Capture.
If you cannot find this entry there, the plugin is not enabled in Plugin Manager (Plugins - Manage Plugins).
