[GIS] Easy way to get .gpx into mapInfo 12

Is there an easy way to get .gpx files pulled from my Garmin GPS60 with MapSource into MapInfo 12?

I know I can grab the data as .txt and fiddle with it in Excel first, just wondering if there is another way.

I use QGIS - which deals really well with GPX files - to convert back and forth from/to MapInfo. Often I don't even bother putting the file into MapInfo because what I want to do is just as easy in QGIS anyway.

What about just using the command line ogr2ogr, or installing FWTools to access it's pre-configured ogr2ogr command line? The core ogr2ogr appears to support bi-directional conversion from MapInfo to GeoJSON.

You may use GPSBabel.

garmin GDB format is supported (see this page). Something like that should work:

gpsbabel -i gdb -f file.gdb -o gpx

A short batch file to loop through and convert all files in a directory:

for %%f in (x:\garmin_data\*.gdb) do (
   gpsbabel -i gdb -f "%%f" -o gpx -F "x:\gpx_data\%%~nf.gpx"
   )

The first -f is the input file and the second is the output. See here about the %%~ syntax.
