ArcGIS JavaScript API – Displaying 3D Maps

We are going to create 3D maps in ArcGIS Desktop with the help of 3d analyst extension and then I want to integrate those maps with ArcGIS Java Script API 3.2/3.3 (after publishing maps on server 10.1)

I researched on Google and ESRI help regarding display 3d map in java script application but not get confirm information although we do not have ArcGIS extension for Bing maps.

So it is possible to display 3d maps in JSAPI 3.2/3.3??

Well it's not the ArcGIS JavaScript API, but there is ESRI's CityEngine Web Viewer, which uses WebGL.

Generate your own array of labels, and then specify them on the time slider using TimeSlider.setLabels.

Here's code I put together to do this, use this after you've called timeSlider.startup():

var months = ['Jan', 'Feb', 'Mar', 'Apr', 'May', 'Jun', 'Jul', 'Aug', 'Sep', 'Oct', 'Nov', 'Dec'];
//add labels for every other time stop
var labels = dojo.map(timeSlider.timeStops, function(timeStop,i){

    var m = months[timeStop.getMonth()];
    var y = (timeStop.getFullYear() - 2000);

timeSlider.setLabels(labels);

The code above will label every other tick instead of every tick. Labeling every tick clutters up the bottom of the slider and makes all labels hard to read. This technique is also shown in the Time Slider sample.

Coincidentally, I have been doing a lot of reading about this subject over the last couple of days. For the actual generation of heat maps there are a large number of factors to consider.

The most valuable resources for me were from Laura Rosenshein at Esri. She sums up a lot of the material in this one blog post.

To answer your question, I would recommend watching the videos linked on that page and then running through the tutorial - that gave me sufficient knowledge on how to use the Spatial Statistics tools in ArcMap to create a multi scale-level heat map for my web application.

If you are short on time, this post gives a good summary on considerations to think about when creating a heat map.
