[GIS] Clipping raster with vector boundaries using QGIS

In QGIS I would like to clip a raster precipitation layer using an admin boundary layer that is vector data. However the Geoprocessing tools seem to be usable only for vector data.

How can I clip this precipitation layer?

Install the GDAL plugin and then use the Clipper Tool.

Geopandas has recently introduced the clip function. The syntax is:

clipped = geopandas.clip(data_source, mask)

Notes:

data_source and mask must be in the same CRS.
for MultiPoint, MultiLine, or MultiPolygon datasets, you first need to explode them into individual features using gpd.explode()

Clipping vector layer with preserving boundaries of polygons in QGIS

The tool you want is called 'extract by location'. You can access it by typing in the search bar in the bottom left hand corner.

Then fill out the form with your buildings layer as extract features from layer and the boundary as the By comparing to the features from layer.

you probably want intersect as your predicate -see the docs for more on what they mean.
