ArcMap – Changing and Adding Keyboard Shortcuts in ArcGIS 10.1

How can I change or add keyboard shortcuts in ArcMap?

I have tried Customize –> Customize mode –> Commands –> Keyboard. However, this does not seem to actually work. I can add shortcuts and link them, but nothing happens when I use them even though they seems to be saved (my created shortcut still shows up after restarting Arcmap).

I'm not using English keyboard layout so, for example, I can't use the [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [=] for Zoom to selected features, since I need Shift to even get a =. It would be really useful to be able to change or add alternative shortcuts for the tools I use regularly.

Does anyone know how? Preferably something within Arcmap, but if it comes down to writing an AutoHotkey script that'll work too if you can give me some hints.

There are a few questions relating to shortcuts already, but none that I found is giving me a useful answer. I have also looked at all the lists of shortcuts that's been implemented, both on ArcGIS Resources Online and this very useful pdf. No hints on how to change the shortcuts though.

COMMENT:
If the shortcut includes [ALT GR] it doesn't seem to work properly.

You need to go to Customize> Customize Mode on the Menu bar, in ArcMap.

Once the Customize dialog appears, click on the keyboard button.

ArcMap – Error Running Arc Hydro Tools Function in ArcMap

I got a little bit different error(s) while running Sink evaluation and basic deranged terrain processing.

Anyhow, these steps might solve other errors too so here's what helped:

I moved all of my data under C:\data\
I created new file geodatabase (named testing.gdb) under that folder
I increased the max number of unique values to render
I set out the targets (C:\data for raster and C:\data\testing.gdb for vector files) using ApUtilites
I set out the processing extent to the extent of my DEM (Geoprocessings>Environments>Processing extent ) )
I saved my project as testing.mxd under C:\data
I set testing.gdb to be default workspace. (this finally solved the last errors I was getting)
I also named my data frame simply to "data" since ArcHydro -tools tend to add data frame name to output-file paths. I'm not sure if step this is needed.

ArcGIS-Desktop – ArcMap Add-In Not Updating to Latest Version

Yes there is a cache on the local machine. At version 10.1 it is:

C:\Users\user name\AppData\Local\ESRI\Desktop10.1\AssemblyCache

In the AssemblyCache folder will be a folder for each add-in ArcMap has loaded. The folders are named with a long alpha-numeric that won't make any sense, but if you click into these folders you will see .dll, .pdb, and .xml files that have the same name as the add in. Simply delete the folder within the AssemblyCache folder that holds the add-in you want to be updated properly, and restart ArcMap.

Note that a few of these folders you need to click through are hidden, so you'll have to make sure you can see hidden folders.

Incidently, I also have a user who occasionally has this same issue, and I have no idea why it happens or how to prevent it from re-occuring.
