My supervisor wants to suggest edits in Latex file in Overleaf edits. So I could keep track of his changes and his comments. How could that be easily done in Overleaf?

One possible solution I can think of from the top of my head is to load the excel table with the python module pandas and than use the export as tex file function in pandas.
#As example:
import pandas as pd
df = pd.read_excel(excel_file.xlsx)
df.to_latex(output.tex)
The file/new menu option allows you to specify the filename as mypackage.sty or whatever you want to call the package. It is probably simplest to make the main document a simple test document
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{mypackage}
\begin{document}
test
\end{document}
so that overleaf has something to run. You can add any specific tests of the commands you are defining to that package as you go along.

This is built into Overleaf now, though it might not have been at the time of the question being asked. You can now add comments and track changes in real time, however it may require a paid subscription.
