[Tex/LaTex] shift title text up with line

positioningtitles

I have been inspired by this link; Shift title and author text up?
but when I use the tips on my own group (not using title). I still get that the text starts farther down on the page. I think this is a default with report-documentclass….does anybody have suggestion on how to push the text farther up on the page? or alter the report class somehow to achieve the same?
here is my current document state;

will move the text up by 2cm.

The titling package might help.

\setlength{\droptitle}{-10em}   % This is your set screw

The reason you're getting the italics with the wrong scope is that you are using \it incorrectly, since it is a switch and not a command that takes an argument. Independently, however, you shouldn't use such commands at all, as they are deprecated and have been replaced with better commands. Here's a solution to your problem using the titling package, and defining a command to set the variable information in the title page.
