[Tex/LaTex] ! LaTeX Error: File `IEEEtran.cls’ not found

I am new to the Latex environment. I am simply compiling the IEEE trans Latex format in Tex-maker but I am getting this problem. I have copied the ieeetran.cls file to the directory

tex>latex>ieeetran>ieeetran.cls

but still when I try to compile the project the error displays that ieeetran.cls not found.

! LaTeX Error: File `IEEEtran.cls' not found.Type X to quit or <RETURN> to proceed,or enter new name. (Default extension: cls)Enter file name:! Emergency stop.<read > \usepackage

I have tried to install the package but it didn't installs.

Before voting down this question please keep in mind that I am new to the whole Latex and Tex-maker thing so please be polite while answering my question. Thanks a lot in advance.

You can simply download the folder in this link https://ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/IEEEtran?lang=en;

Then, you have to copy the file IEEEtran to the folder where your working file are in. Have a nice day.

I found that there are two things that I found are necessary to make the IEEEtran class compile:

There needs to be a at least one correct citation in your document one in your bib (in your case, bibi.bib) file.
In the tool chain, you need to compile with LaTeX (or equivalently PdfLaTeX), then once with BibTex, and then twice with LaTeX again to incorporate the bibliography and correct in-text referencing.

If either of these two things is not the case, I also get the same LaTeX Error: Something's wrong--perhaps a missing \item error. Bizarrely, with a single citation it works for me, but after commenting it out it crashes again.

The apparent reason for this is that the IEEEtran class doesn't like empty bibliographies and can't deal with that. I haven't been able to find an underlying reason for that, though, nor a way to fix it.

I think you want

\documentclass[conference]{IEEEtran}

rather than

\documentclass{conference}
