How do I use IEEE and AIP bibliography styles in biblatex? Is there a resource somewhere that has bbx and cbx style files?
For AIP, I have seen REVTeX, but it only uses the basic BibTeX bst, not the BibLaTeX bbx and cbx. Also, I do not know how to use just the bibliography style without having to use the REVTeX document class.
I can't test it right now, but it should be possible to load biblatex with the options citestyle=authoryear,bibstyle=ieee and then to add authoryear's bibenvironment definition to the preamble:

Typically you define a new bibliography format with \defbibenvironment:

Internally biblatex groups these code segments and uses & as an end-of-list marker in handling items. So the existing setup isn't suited for tabular.
One workaround is to use a list environment borrowing enumitem's multiline label format, but this doesn't cope with long labels and short items.

A solution that allows use of tabular requires delving into biblatex internals. Here we define tabular variants of \defbibenvironment and \printbibliography: \defbibtabular and \printbibtabular. The former takes five arguments:

I have just uploaded a first version of
biblatex-ieeeto CTAN. This should implement most of the style of the BibTeX part of theIEEEtranbundle. Obviously some testing is needed, but this should enable you to use something very close to the IEEE style usingbiblatex.There is now also a
biblatex-physpackage on CTAN. At present, this covers the styles which REVTeX provides: the AIP and APS approaches.
