MATLAB: Do I receive the error “MATLAB Parallel Cloud is not supported”

Question

I was previously using MATLAB Parallel Cloud across a number of releases. I now receive the following error the first time I attempt to use it inside MATLAB:

MATLAB Parallel Cloud is not supported in R2017b

Any further attempts to use MATLAB Parallel Cloud within that MATLAB session may also give me this error:

Undefined function or variable 'version'.

MATLAB Parallel Cloud has been discontinued from December 2018. As an alternative, use Cloud Center to scale MATLAB applications and Simulink models to the cloud.
