MATLAB: How to minimize the size of MATLAB Runtime Libraries (MCR)

Hi,

Is there a way to set installation options for MATLAB Runtime libraries (MCR)? The objective is to choose only the relevant libraries to my application in order to minimize the size of the libraries on the system. Note that I've searched online a lot but found no up-to-date answer.

At this time, it is not possible to use MATLAB Compiler to make a portable application. Applications that have been compiled with MATLAB Compiler, require the MATLAB Compiler Runtime and the requisite permissions to install them on the target machine.

lsqcurvefit is better for a problem of that form.
Are you supplying your own derivative calculations using the GradObj option (and Hessian option if applicable)? You should do so, since the analytical derivatives are easy here. With lsqcurvefit, there are similar options, e.g. Jacobian.
How are you initializing the optimization? Because your model is loglinear, it is likely that the initial guess as generated below will be more effective than random guessing.
